BEDWASH, Richard (1937-2011 ). Born in Hillsport, Ontario, Bedwash, an Ojibway artist, began painting in 1967. He had no formal art training but was influenced by Norval Morrisseau. Working in acrylic and lithography, he is known for his traditional, simplified-style paintings and prints of birds, fish and other animals of Ojibway legend and lore.

Carl Beam R.C.A. (May 24, 1943 – July 30, 2005), born Carl Edward Migwans, made Canadian art history as the first artist of Native Ancestry (Ojibwe), to have his work purchased by the National Gallery of Canada as Contemporary Art. A major retrospective of his work, mounted by the National Gallery of Canada, is on exhibition starting October 22, 2010, recognizing Beam as one of Canada's most important artists. He worked in various photographic mediums, mixed media, oil, acrylic, spontaneously scripted text on canvas, works on paper, Plexiglas, stone, cement, wood, handmade ceramic pottery, and found objects, in addition toetching, lithography, and screen process.

Recognized as one of Canada’s most important artists, Carl Beam was the first artist of native Ancestry (Ojibwe) to have his work purchased by the National Gallery of Canada as Contemporary Art. This rare and collectable print is one of only 300 and is signed by the artist.

Geordie Juniors

Geordie Juniors are taken through theatre exercises in order to develop skills in storytelling, character development, physical acting and using their imagination. During the course of the session, students learn to share ideas and invent scenes through improvisation and teamwork. The session will end with a final in-class presentation which is collectively created by the kids. Maximum 10 kids per class. The Fall Session runs from September to December 2017.   

Geordie Teens

Geordie Teens learn to develop and improve their acting skills through various dramatic exercises such as: character development, improvisation and creative movement. The session will end with a final in-class presentation which is collectively created by the teens. Maximum 10 teens per class. The Fall Session runs from September to December 2017.
